This Privacy Policy applies to the Free Screenshot to Google Drive Chrome extension (“the Extension”), developed by WebSpero Solutions.

1. Data We Do NOT Collect

The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.
  • We do not collect or store any screenshots you take.
  • We do not track which websites you visit.
  • We do not use analytics or tracking tools of any kind.
  • We do not have a backend server. No data is ever sent to WebSpero Solutions.

2. How the Extension Works

The Extension operates entirely on your device and communicates only with Google’s own services:

  • Screenshots are captured locally in your browser and uploaded directly to your own Google Drive account via Google’s official Drive API. WebSpero Solutions never receives or stores your screenshots.
  • Google Authentication is handled by Chrome’s built-in identity API and Google’s OAuth 2.0. We never see or store your Google password or access tokens.
  • User preferences (Drive folder name, keyboard shortcuts, filename template) are stored locally in Chrome’s own storage on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.

3. Google Drive Access

The Extension requests the drive.file scope, which grants access only to files the Extension itself creates. It cannot read, modify, or delete any other files in your Google Drive.

4. Permissions Explained

The Extension uses the following Chrome permissions, each solely for the purpose described:

Permission Why it is needed
activeTab / tabs To capture the current webpage as a screenshot and read the page title for filename generation.
identity To authenticate with your Google account so screenshots can be saved to your Drive.
scripting To inject the area-selection overlay and enable full-page scrolling during capture.
debugger To render full-page screenshots beyond the visible viewport. Detached immediately after capture.
storage To save your preferences (folder name, shortcuts, templates) locally on your device only.
notifications To show a confirmation when your screenshot has been saved successfully.
clipboardWrite To copy the Google Drive share link to your clipboard after upload.

5. Third-Party Services

The Extension communicates only with Google’s own services:

  • Google Drive API (googleapis.com) — to upload screenshots to your personal Drive.
  • Google Accounts (accounts.google.com) — for OAuth 2.0 authentication only.

These communications are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Extension does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
